Shelley Mesenko-Mahan
Encaustic Artist
Exhibit "Hot Wax"
Shelley Mesenko-Mahan is a bold encaustic painter. Her paintings evoke an emotive response by using exciting colors, wild calligraphic strokes and some sensual subject matter. Rendered in luminous layers of encaustic medium, the medium draws the viewer in to look deeper into the painting. Though encaustics is a labor intensive and technically complex medium, Shelley will tell you her paintings are meant to be BRIGHT and FUN, two things she is excited to share! Shelley is a 1985 graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle and resides with her family in Edmonds, WA. She has been painting with encaustics exclusively for the last six years. She creates her work from her Studio located in the Mongrain Glass Building in Mukilteo, WA.
